Home for the holidays

Adam and I decided to spend Christmas in Roanoke this year for a variety of reasons, mainly being that it was my brother’s first Christmas without my Mom since she moved to South Carolina. We had an amazing time catching up with family and friends, while experiencing in a “real” winter.

An impromptu park trip to one of our favorites, Green Hill Park. Axle loved the cooler weather and open field, we loved the homey mountain views.

A delicious tequila – pomegranate cocktail at The Red Rooster Bar in Salem before a last-minute Christmas shopping night out with my bestie.

Meeting the newest addition to our family, Townsend. Such a sweet baby!

A trip home wouldn’t be complete without a stop at our favorite, Parkway Brewery. We had to bribe Axle with some Fruit-loops to be on his best behavior.

Christmas Eve really put us in the holiday spirit! We started the day with a hike to Buffalo Mountain in Floyd and while we didn’t see any mountains, we got to experience some incredible fog (and PBR’s of course).

Finally, Christmas Day was so nice. I got to spend it with all the people I love so much and ate a fried turkey for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved it!

I hope you had a fantastic holiday with your loved ones and Happy New Year!
